Collegiate Results

Freshman (2021): Indoor season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic… Competed in seven meets for the Lakers during the outdoor season… In her first collegiate meet, the Blizzard Buster, placed second overall as she set a new school record in javelin with a throw of 45.16 meters…. Placed first overall at the Hillsdale Invitational with a throw of 44.38 meters… Recorded a first place finish at the Al Owens Meet with a throw of 45.09 meters, which led the field by over 11 meters… Finished first overall at Hillsdale’s Gina Relays in the javelin competition with a throw of 42.90 meters… Posted her fourth consecutive first place finish at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet with a 42.63 meter throw… Competed in the javelin for the Lakers at the 2021 GLIAC Outdoor Championships… Earned the title of GLIAC Champion in the event with a throw of 43.85 meters, which secured her fifth first-place finish of the season… Fleming secured 10 points for the Lakers as the top finisher… Became the first Laker female to record a first place finish at the outdoor GLIAC Championships since 2013 when Leslie Mitchell placed first overall in the women's 100 meter dash…. Held the top mark in the javelin in the conference through the entire spring season and was the only female athlete in the GLIAC to post a provisional qualifying mark in the javelin this season… Competed at GVSU’s Last Chance Meet where she placed first with a mark of 44.12 meters… Ended the season holding the 18th best mark in Division II… Finished the season with provisional qualifying marks in all seven meets and surpassed the previous school record, held by Jill Walton (39.19m) in all seven competitions… Placed first in six of seven meets during the outdoor season… Received the Terry McDermott Award as the LSSU Athletic Department’s top female first-year student-athlete. 

High School: Graduated from Central Algoma Secondary School in Desbarats, Ont. in 2019… Competed in the North Shore Secondary School Athletics Conference and was coached by Nigel Good… Named MVP of the Track and Field Team in four consecutive seasons… Awarded Athlete of the Year in 2017, 2018 and 2019… Recipient of the Colin Hood Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Award in 2020… Provincial Champion in javelin in 2017... Royal Canadian Legion National Champion as well as Provinical Champion in 2018 with a distance of 47.14 meters… Placed second at the OFSAA Championships in 2018 with a distance of 40.67 meters… Athletics Ontario Champion in 2018 (41.47m) and 2019 (43.86m)... OFSAA Champion in 2019 with a personal record throw of 45.11 meters… Canadian Championship Runner-Up in 2019 (44.93m).

Personal: Daughter of John and Melissa Fleming… Has three brothers, Carter, James, and Steven… Was also a four year member of the basketball, volleyball, and badminton teams in high school… Three-year captain of the basketball and volleyball teams... Served as President of the Student Athletic Association for two years… Majoring in kinesiology.
