Brent Pusch is entering his first season as an assistant coach for the Lake Superior State golf team in 2019-20. 

Pusch rejoins the LSSU golf staff after a two-year absence.  He had served as head coach of the men’s team from 2012-2016 and  head coach of the women’s team from 2014-2016 before taking on a full time faculty position with LSSU.  Pusch recently took a full time faculty role at Sault College in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and will assist the golf team on a part-time basis.

Pusch has an extensive background in golf as he has spent the past 23 years as a PGA teaching professional at golf academies throughout Ontario, Colorado and Arizona.

A graduate of Ferris State University’s professional golf management program, Pusch pursued a career in professional golf.  Pusch turned pro in the spring of 1998, and competed in several events in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Colorado. Pusch began to teach golf while working for Marriott Golf and completing the Golf Digest training program.

Since 2002, Pusch has gone on to work as a PGA head teaching professional at several facilities including the Crimson Ridge Golf Course, Island Springs Golf Resort and Lake Joseph Club.

His focus has been on player development and managing elite junior golf programs consisting of current NCAA Division I and II players. From 2012-13, Pusch was an assistant coach with the U17 Team Ontario.

He is currently completing training and certifications in coaching at an elite performance level
