SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced that 19 Lake Superior State student-athletes have been named to the Fall 2019 GLIAC All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Teams.
10 Lakers earned GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team honors and nine garnered All-Academic Team recognition for the fall of 2019.
Women's volleyball led the way for Lake Superior State with a total of 10 honorees between the All-Academic and the All-Academic Excellence Teams. Cross country had six total honorees between the men's and women's teams. Women's tennis had three student-athletes earn the honor, all receiving all-academic excellence.
To qualify, criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first-year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student-athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0. Grades are based on marks through the fall semester of 2019.
