SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.- The Lake Superior State University men's and women's cross country teams will be in action on Friday, Sept. 13 as they travel to East Lansing, Mich to participate in the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State.

STRONG START: 

After strong finishes in the 6,000-meter run at the 1st Annual Northwood XC Invitational on Sept. 7th  by junior David Mitter (18:46.9), who finished second overall, and junior Kendal Delpiere (20:10.8), who finished 25th overall, the men look forward to competing this Friday in East Lansing.

The women's team had a memorable day at the Northwood XC Invitational with three athletes setting new personal records at the 5,000-meter distance. Finishing first among the Lakers was senior Rebecca Lathrop, who with a time of 19:44.0, enough to claim 16th overall in the competition and a personal record. Juniors Alexis Passino (20:31.6) and Emily Merten (21:23.2) also registered personal records at this event.

Up Next

On Sept. 21, the Lakers will travel to New Boston, Mich. to participate in the Second Annual Warrior Challenge, hosted by Wayne State. The women's 6,000-meter race will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the men's 8,000-meter race to follow at 11:30 a.m.
