Kalinowski Named GLIAC Setter of the Week after Career-High 59 Assists

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Senior setter Emily Kalinowski (South Lyon, Mich.) has been named the GLIAC Setter of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Kalinowski notched over 100 assists over two games, making her the fourth Laker to ever record 1,000 assists in a single season in program history. She had 42 assists against Northern Michigan before exploding for a career-high 59 assists in the Lakers' 5-set victory over Michigan Tech to play their way into the GLIAC tournament on the final day of the regular season. She also supported her defense with 25 digs and three block assists and got more involved with the offense by sneaking across four kills and serving five aces, including a pair of back-to-back aces to close out the opening set against MTU.

Kalinowski and the Lakers will now turn their attention to the postseason when they travel to face the top-seeded Grand Valley State Lakers in the opening round of the GLIAC tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 15 with the first serve scheduled for 6 p.m.
