Volleyball Loses a Conference Match to Northwood

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's volleyball dropped a three-set match to the Northwood University Timberwolves in a road contest on Friday, Nov. 1 in Midland, Mich. With the loss, the Lakers overall record drops to 8-15 overall and 2-10 in Great Lakers Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. 

First set: Timberwolves won 25-21

Second set: Timberwolves won 25-15

Third set: Timberwolves 25-19

The Lakers were led offensively by the tandem of senior Amanda Reid, who had 14 kills in the match and a .275 hitting percentage, and sophomore Camdyn Odykirk, who finished the game with nine kills and a .300 hitting percentage. Sophomore setter Halle Grulke's 24 assists would lead the Lakers, bringing her season total to 544. Defensively, the team's libero sophomore Abby Beachnau totaled 16 digs against the Timberwolves.  

The Lakers will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Ferris State University Bulldogs in Big Rapids, Mich. at 3:00 p.m. in another GLIAC match.
