Lakers Drop Match to Wisconsin-Parkside

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -  The Lake Superior State women's volleyball team lost a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match against the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers in three sets on Friday, Oct. 11 in the Bud Cooper Gymnasium. With the loss, Lake State's record falls to 4-12 overall and 1-7 in conference play. 

First set: Rangers won 25-16

Second set: Rangers won 25-22

Third set: Rangers won 25-20

Senior outside hitter Amanda Reid continued her strong play for the Lakers as she led the team in kills with 13 and ranked second in digs with 12. Junior Sarah Bailey's offensive game was solid for the Lakers as she posted eight kills in the match. Sophomore setter Halle Grulke added to her assist total on the season as she collected 27 assists through the game's three sets. Sophomore Abby Beachnau, the team's libero, tallied a team-high 18 digs in the contest.

The Lakers will close out Great Lake State Weekend play tomorrow Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2:00 p.m. against the Purdue-Northwest Pride in another GLIAC matchup.
