Volleyball falls 3-0 at Northwood

MIDLAND, Mich. - Lake Superior State volleyball dropped a road match against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rivals Northwood on Friday (Oct. 28), 3-0.

The Timberwolves (13-9, 4-7 GLIAC) earned set victories of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-14 in holding court at home.

Junior Brooke Williams and freshman Amanda Reid led the way for the Lakers (3-20, 0-11 GLIAC) with six kills each, followed by sophomore Jena Tulgestke with four kills. Tulgestke also led the Lakers in attack percentage with a .300 clip on her 10 attacks, committing just one error.

Northwood was led by Allison Getty's 14 kills and eight kills by Colleen Mayer. Mayer also finished with three assisted blocks  and produced an attack-percentage of .667 on 12 attempts, with no errors.

The Timberwolves combined for 42 total kills to double up the Lakers' 21 kills on the match.

The Lakers next travel to Hillsdale for a 2 p.m. match against the Chargers on Saturday. The Lakers return home for three matches next week, beginning with a 4 p.m. match against Saginaw Valley State on Tuesday (Nov. 1). LSSU also hosts Ferris State at 4 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 4) and Grand Valley State at 2 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 5).
