Lakers fall at Grand Valley 3-0

ALLENDALE - Lake Superior State volleyball fell 3-0 to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference rival Grand Valley on Saturday.

Janelle Nagy and Sydne McMullen led the way for the Lakers as each player collected seven kills in the effort. Nagy also produced a match-high 21 assists.

McMullen and Brooke Williams combined for the team's only block-assist of the match.

Betsy Ronda led the charge for GVSU with 12 kills, as well as eight digs on the defensive end.

Katie Olson collected 18 assists and 11 digs to lead the GVSU Lakers in both categories.

LSSU concludes their first season under head coach Mallory Larranaga next weekend with a homestand against Upper Peninsula rivals Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech Nov. 13-14, respectively. Saturday's match against the Huskies will be senior day as the Lakers honor their lone senior, Sydne McMullen.
