Lakers fall in a sweep at the hands of Lake Erie 3-0

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Lake Superior State women's volleyball suffered a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference rival Lake Erie College Saturday afternoon.

The Lakers' (0-11, 0-7 GLIAC) attack was stymied by a Storm (5-8, 1-6 GLIAC) defense that collected 37 digs to go along with five solo-blocks and four block-assists.

Senior Janelle Nagy led the Lakers in kills with five, and assists with eight. Nagy also collected four digs in the match.

Jen Marren and Jenna Kilmer each added three assists for the Lakers, who were only able to muster 14 kills in the match.

The Storm were surged by Leondra Barrett's 13 kills on 19 attempts (.526 attack-percentage). Madison Russell also produced double-digit kills with 10.

Alexis Thomas and Mallory Gustincic each added double-digit assists for the Storm with 19 and 13 respectively.

The Lakers are back in action on Friday as they face Tiffin at 7 p.m.
