Lakers finish Wildcat Open with 3-0 loss to Cedarville

MARQUETTE, Mich.- Lake Superior State rounded out the Wildcat Open with a 3-0 loss to Cedarville on Saturday. The Lakers (0-4, 0-0 GLIAC) were unable to pick up a win during their four matches on the weekend.

Janelle Nagy led the Lakers in kills again with nine during the three set match. Nagy's six assists were second only to freshman Logan Hutek with seven. Jena Tulgestke and Brooke Williams each finished with three kills in the match.

The Lakers were once again victimized by errors, finishing with 23 errors and 21 kills for a -.030 attack percentage. Cedarville finished with 31 kills and 14 errors.

Abby Shelton led the way for Cedarville with 11 kills and a .500 attack percentage. Kristin Cardwell (12) and Kristen Reynolds led Yellow Jackets in assists.

The Lakers will enjoy a bye week next weekend before heading back to the western Upper Peninsula for matches at Michigan Tech Sept. 18 and at Northern Michigan Sept. 19.
