Lakers and Oilers go to the wire in all three sets

FINDLAY, Ohio - Lake Superior State and Findlay battled to the wire during all three sets of Saturday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match, but the Oilers prevailed in all three.
UF (8-13 overall, 2-9 GLIAC) claimed a 26-24, 27-25, 25-18 victory.
LSSU junior Ali Jones tied her personal season high in overall matches and tied a team season high for kills in a three-set match by totaling 12. She also had a .267 attack percentage. During her last two matches combined, Jones has put forth a .265 attack rate, which is also a season high for a weekend.
Ashley Purvis totaled 34 assists, which is her second-best total of the season and team high for a three-set match. Purvis also led the Lakers in digs with eight.
Sara Hess added eight kills and Jessica Ewer seven for the Lakers (3-12 overall, 2-9 GLIAC).
LSSU begins play in the GLIAC v. Great Lakes Valley Conference Challenge on Oct. 17 in Indianapolis.
