Lakers continue road stretch at Hillsdale

HILLSDALE - After winning a first-set nail-biter, 26-24, Hillsdale went on to beat the Lake Superior State volleyball team, 25-16, 25-15, to take Friday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match.
Sara Hess totaled a team-high 11 kills to lead LSSU (3-11 overall, 2-8 GLIAC), while Kitt Smith had 12 kills to lead Hillsdale (13-7 overall, 5-5 GLIAC).
LSSU compiled an impressive .237 attack percentage in the first set, and had a .164 attack rate for the match. Ashley Purvis totaled 25 assists, and Brittany Newberry had 12 digs.
Hess also had three block assists, while Jessica Ewer contributed five kills and eight digs. Ali Jones totaled seven kills and had a .263 attack rate.
The Lakers play Saturday at Findlay.
