Women's Tennis Set to Host SVSU in First GLIAC Home Match of the Season

SAULT STE MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University women's tennis team will host the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match on Saturday, April 2 at the Norris Center's Student Activity Center at 10:00 a.m. The Lakers look to record their first GLIAC win of the 2022 season after dropping both conference matches last weekend on the road.

The team is coming off a hard fought match against Ferris State last Saturday, as the Lakers fell by a final score of 4-3 to the Bulldogs. No. 2 singles player freshman Maddie Whip, No. 3 player Milena Baigorria and No. 5 player Claudia Sole won their matches against their Ferris State opponents. This weekend, the Lakers will also look to No. 1 singles player Nadege Koua as well as Muskaan Ranjan for strong performances against the Cardinals.

The SVSU Cardinals have totaled a 4-2 overall record this spring and hold an 0-2 record in GLIAC play. Saginaw Valley is led by No. 1 singles player, junior Sara Neves.
