Women's Tennis Season Closes with a 4-3 Loss

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's tennis team lost its final match of the fall season to the Purdue Northwest Pride by a final score of 4-3 on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Arbuckle Student Activity Center. 

 

Doubles competition: 

1.  Nadege Koua/Muskaan Ranjan (LSSU) def Lena Van Bergen/Patricia Dizon (PNW), 6-2

2.. Olivia Kjaer/Julia Yannes-Barrera (PNW) def.  AlexiAnn Drouin/Riley Gilman (LSSU), 6-4

3.  Anna Wachowski/Carolina Yepez (PNW) def. No player/No player (LSSU), by forfeit

Singles Competition: 

1. AlexiAnn Drouin (LSSU) def. Lena Van Bergen (PNW) 6-0, 6-1

2. Nadege Koua (LSSU) def. Carolina Yepez (PNW) 6-2, 6-0

3. Muskaan Ranjan (LSSU) def. Patricia Dizon (PNW) 6-4, 6-2

4. Olivia Kjaer (PNW) def. Riley Gilman (LSSU) 6-4, 7-6(8-6)

5. Julia Yannes-Barrera (PNW) def. Madelin Harrod (LSSU) 6-0, 6-3

6. Kelli Canul (PNW) def. No player (LSSU), by forfeit

With the loss, the Lakers will not qualify for the GLIAC Tournament this season. The Lakers will resume play in the spring.
