SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State women's tennis student-athlete AlexiAnn Drouin has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Lake Superior State athletic department on Monday.

Drouin, a sophomore from Saint-Georges, Que. who is majoring in biochemistry, played to a 4-0 record at No. 1 singles and a 3-1 record as part of the No. 2 doubles team with freshman Keegan Malpass.

Drouin helped the Laker women's tennis team to a 3-1 record on the week. The Laker wins came against Davis & Elkins (7-0) on Wednesday, West Virginia Wesleyan (6-1) on Thursday and Lawrence Tech (8-1) on Saturday. 

It is the first time that Drouin has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week.
