Women's Tennis Wraps Up GLIAC Tournament Action

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Lake Superior State women's tennis team wrapped up the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament this morning. They played against Ferris State in the fifth place match. The Lakers fell to the bulldogs 4-1.

In doubles, at No. 1 Tara Harvey and Nadege Koua won 6-2, at No. 2, AlexiAnn Drouin and Margo Muller lost a close match 7-6 (3), and rounding out doubles play at the No. 3 spot was Allison Grandfield and Jenay Andrews losing, 6-3.

In singles, at No.2 Koua won, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4 Muller lost in three set battle, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2. Freshman Keegan Malpass, lost 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot, and Grandfield lost, 6-4, 6-2.

The Lakers finished their season with an overall record of 5-7 and a 4-5 record in conference. They finished sixth place in the GLIAC. They will return to the courts in the spring for non-conference matches.
