Women's Tennis Drops Final Regular Season Match to Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, Mich. -- The Lake Superior State women's tennis team travelled to Houghton, Michigan to play in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match against Michigan Tech. The Lakers fell to the Huskies, 7-0.

In doubles, at No. 1, Tara Harvey and Nadege Koua lost 6-2. At No. 2, AlexiAnn Drouin and Margo Muller lost 6-4, and at the No. 3 spot, Jenay Andrews and Allison Grandfield lost in a tiebreaker 7-6 (4).

In singles play, Drouin lost 7-6 (2), 6-1 at the No.1 spot and Koua lost in a close three set match 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2. Harvey lost 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3. At No. 4 singles, Muller lost in a tight three set battle, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, and at No. 5, freshman Keegan Malpass lost in a three set tiebreaker 3-6, 6-0, 10-5. At No. 6, Grandfield lost 6-0, 6-3.

The Lakers wrapped up their regular season and will continue play next weekend (Oct. 26-28) in the GLIAC tournament.
