Women's tennis falls 8-1 at Hillsdale

HILLSDALE, Mich.- Lake Superior State women's tennis fell 8-1 on the road against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Hillsdale College on Saturday.

The Chargers (4-4, 4-4 GLIAC) swept the doubles portion to start the dual match and take a 3-0 lead into the singles portion. Halle Hyman and Katie Bell of Hillsdale topped Tara Harvey and Jenay Andrews 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles postion, followed by an 8-3 win from  Kamryn Matthews and Dana Grace Buck over Macerena Bielsa and Kirsten Malpass in their first time playing doubles together for the Lakers (3-5, 2-5 GLIAC). 

In singles play the Lakers got their lone point of the match with a victory by Laura Roberts in the No. 2 slot. Roberts' opponent, Katie Bell, was forced to retire early from the match with Roberts ahead 3-2 in the first set.

The Lakers conclude the weekend at 1 p.m. on Sunday, at Wayne State.
