SAULT STE. MARIE- Lake Superior State women's tennis opened their weekend with a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Hillsdale College, eventually falling to the Chargers 7-2.

The Lakers got singles victories from freshman Tara Harvey and Laura Roberts.

Harvey, in the No. 2 singles slot, captured a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Lindsay Pierce. Harvey is now 2-6 on the season, playing every match in the No. 2 position.

Laura Roberts collected the Lakers (0-8, 0-7 GLIAC) only other victory in the match. Roberts defeated Dana Grace Buck in three sets, 7-5, 5-7, 7-6.

The Lakers host Wayne State Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
