Lake State women's tennis team falls to Northwood

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Lake State women's tennis team lost to Northwood, 9-0, Saturday at the Arbuckle Student Activity Center. The Lakers overall record is 2-1, and they are 1-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference..
Junior Katie Watchorn (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) lost in a third-set tie-breaker, 10-6, at No. 6 singles to highlight the Lakers' effort.
"Today was a great test for us. Playing a team like Northwood
really gave us a sense of where we are at heading into the ITA
Regional Tournament next weekend," said Lake State coach Tom
Linhart. "I was impressed by the way we approached the match. We
left nothing on the court and really competed at a high level."
LSSU will compete in the ITA Regional Tournament in Indianapolis,
Ind., Sept. 18 - 20.
