DiVito posts LSSU's lone win at ITA Regional
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Sophomore Adrienne DiVito defeated Michigan Tech's Otunchieve Asel 6-2, 6-1 for Lake Superior State's lone with at the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Women's Tennis Tournament.
DiVito went on to lose 7-5, 6-1 to Ashland's Torrie Goudy, who was seeded 11th. In other singles matches, No. 15 seed Ingrid Pflieger lost 6-4, 6-2 to Ashland's Corinne Pasley, Carolyn Pumford dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to No. 13 seed Kristen Sunday of Northern Kentucky, and Anais Molina-Rodriguez lost in a tie-breaker, 10-4, to Grand Valley State's Katelyn Schaffer after splitting sets, 7-5, 2-6.
In doubles, Ashland's Pasley and Alexandra Ware defeated DiVito and Erin Wiethoff, 8-2. Northern Kentucky's Sunday and Jill Sturgeon beat Pflieger and Katie Watchorn, 8-3.
The Lakers (2-1) resume dual matches Sept. 25 at Ferris State.
