Women's Golf Closes Season at the 2021 GLIAC Championships

AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's golf team competed at the 2021 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Golf Championships on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17 at the Stonehedge North Golf Club at the Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort in Augusta, Mich. The Lakers finished the two-day conference championship in eighth place with a combined score of 643.

Lake Superior State's team totaled a 322 score in the opening round on Friday and closed out the competition with a second day total of 321. 

Senior Madison Wilkie led the Lakers at the conference championship as she finished tied for 14th place among all participants. Wilkie recorded a team-best score of 74 on Friday and followed with a second day score of 80 to combine for a 154 total. Junior Naomi Keyte finished second among her teammates and 27th in the conference with a combined score of 158 (80, 78). Redshirt-senior Madison Whittet posted a two-day score of 161 (79, 82) to finish third on the LSSU squad and tied for 29th among the GLIAC golfers. 

Sophomore Julia Vess and junior Alyshia Suleman rounded out the Laker team at the GLIAC Championships. Vess recorded a two-day total of 171 while Suleman finished the pair of rounds with a combined score of 176.
