SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — Lake Superior State women's golf student-athlete Naomi Keyte has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Lake Superior State athletic department on Monday. 

Keyte, a sophomore from Kalamazoo, Michigan who is majoring in nursing, was the top finisher for the Lakers at the 2019 GLIAC Women's Golf Championships on Friday and Saturday at Gull Lake Golf Cub and Resort in Augusta, Michigan. Keyte shot a two-round total of 163 (81, 82) to tie for 20th place and help Lake Superior State to a seventh-place team finish.  

It is the first time that Keyte has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week.

The Lake Superior State women's golf team concluded its 2018-19 season at the GLIAC Championships this past weekend.
