LSSU Athletics Announces Change of Leadership in Women’s Basketball

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Lake Superior State University (LSSU) Director of Athletics Tory Lindley has announced Brandon Lokken will not return as LSSU head women's basketball coach next season.

"We thank Coach Lokken for everything that he has invested in our women's basketball program over the past seven-plus years.  Difficult decisions like these will always be made thoughtfully, carefully and with the student-athlete experience top of mind."

Lokken has served as head coach of the Laker women's basketball program for the past seven seasons since first being named interim coach in June 2017.  He has since recruited and developed two Second Team All-GLIAC honorees, a GLIAC All-Defensive Team honoree, as well as a GLIAC Freshman of the Year recipient.

A national search will begin immediately.
