Laker Women's Basketball Fall at GVSU

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) women's basketball team (2-23, 1-15 GLIAC) fell on the road at Grand Valley State (GVSU) (24-2, 15-1 GLIAC) by a final score of 100-48 on Saturday.

GVSU was able to take the early advantage, but LSSU cut into the deficit with buckets from Amanda Roach (Hartland, Mich.) and CeCe Hacker (Omaha, Neb.). Grace Bradford (Maple City, Mich.) and Taylor Stacy (Toledo, Ohio) would then each hit a three to keep their team within striking distance after the first ten minutes of action.

LSSU would continue to let it fly to open the second quarter with threes from Hacker and Stacy, but they would still find themselves trailing at the half, and despite multiple fourth quarter baskets from Maddie Bradford (Maple City, Mich.), Grand Valley was able to hold on for the victory.

M. Bradford led LSSU in scoring on the day with 11 points while her older sister Grace led the team in rebounding with 6.

The Lakers return to action on Thursday, Feb. 29 when they host the Pride of Purdue Northwest with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
