Laker Women's Basketball Fall at Barry

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Lake Superior State University (LSSU) women's basketball team (0-9, 0-2 GLIAC) fell to the Barry Buccaneers (6-4, 1-1 SSC) by a final score of 77-47 on Saturday. 

Grace Bradford (Maple City, Mich.) opened up the scoring for the Lakers with a pair of baskets, but the Buccaneers were able to pull ahead. Makenna Clement (Byron, Mich.) was able to get to the free throw line to help the Lakers keep fighting in the second quarter, but despite a three from Amanda Roach (Hartland, Mich.), Barry was able to take a 37-24 lead into the second half.

Jaden Wilder (Manton, Mich.) pressed the attack for the Lakers early in the second half with a tough basket while being fouled, but the Buccaneers were able to push ahead, holding on to claim the victory.

The Lakers return to action on Sunday, Dec. 31 for a New Year's Eve battle on the road against Illinois-Springfield with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
