SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State women's basketball student-athlete Claire Radtke has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Lake Superior State athletic department on Tuesday, Nov. 26. 

Radtke, a senior guard from New Berlin, Wis., was tied for the team-lead in points (15) in the Lakers 63-57 win against Tiffin University on Tuesday, Nov. 20.  The Environmental Science major posted four three-pointers on five attempts to lead the Lakers while also contributing six rebounds and four steals in the game. In the Lakers game on Friday, Nov. 22, Radtke's team-leading 14 points helped the Lakers clinch the 60-52 win. She added six rebounds for Lake State.

It is the first time that Radtke has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week.

The Lakers will return to the court on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. to open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play when they host Ashland in the Bud Cooper Gymnasium.
