Women's Basketball Continues Homestand with a Game Against Hillsdale

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.- The Lake Superior State women's basketball team will be back in action in the Bud Cooper Gymnasium as they host Hillsdale College Chargers at 4:00pm on Saturday, Nov. 16. This game follows the Lakers 1-1 record from the tournament Lake Superior State hosted on Nov. 8 and 9. 

Leading the Lady Lakers

Senior forward Lexi Khon has been dominating in scoring this season. Khon averages 21.5 points thus far and leads the Lakers in field goal percentage this year at a staggering 73.9%. Junior guard Jenna Gregory leads the Lakers in assists. Gregory averages 5.5 assists per game. Senior guard Claire Radtke leads the Lakersin rebounds, averaging 7.5 rebounds a game. 

Overall, the Lakers are shooting 44.9% from the field, 28.6% from three, and 71.1% from the free-throw line. The Lakers are also averaging 28.5 rebounds per game. 

Hillsdale College Chargers- (1-1) Great Midwestern Athletic Conference (GMAC)- Hillsdale, Mich. 

The Hillsdale Chargers are coached by Matt Fritsche who enters his third season as the Chargers coach. Leading the Chargers offensively is sophomore guard Lauren Daffenburg who averages 21.5 points a game. Senior center Julia Wacker leads the Chargers in rebounds with 7 rebounds per game. 

The Chargers are shooting 37.9% from the field, 29.1% from three, and 83.9% from the charity stripe. Due to their height advantage in most games, the Chargers have an average of 43.5 rebounds per game. 

 

Up Next

The Lakers will continue their homestand as they host Tiffin on Wednesday Nov. 20 at 5:30pm. This game will take place in the Bud Cooper Gymnasium.
