Women's Basketball Drops Road Game Against Parkside

KENOSHA, Wis. — Lake Superior State women's basketball fell to Parkside by an 80-62 final in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road matchup on Thursday evening.

Lake Superior State (7-18, 2-16 GLIAC) fell behind 17-12 in the first quarter. Parkside (11-13, 9-9 GLIAC) then doubled up the Lakers, outscoring them 18-9 in the second frame and extending their lead to 36-20 at the half. In the third quarter, the Lakers outscored the Rangers by a 20-15 margin but still trailed 51-40 with a quarter to go. Parkside closed things out by scoring 29 points in the fourth quarter compared to Lake State's 22, making it an 80-62 victory for the Rangers.

Junior forward Lexie Khon matched her season-high point total with 23 and notched nine rebounds. Sophomore guard Jenna Gregory tallied 10 points and three rebounds, and junior forward Morgan Villemure had the next-best point total with eight. Junior guard Claire Radtke had seven points and three rebounds.

The Lakers were 19-of-23 from the free-throw line, while the Rangers were 15-of-17.

Lake State's shooting percentage was 32.1, including 31.8 percent on three-point shots. The Rangers capitalized on 56.0 percent of their shot attempts and were 50.0 percent on three-pointers.

The Lakers continue action on the road on Saturday against Purdue Northwest. Game time is set for 4 p.m. EST.
