SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State women's basketball student-athlete Jenna Gregory has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Lake Superior State athletic department on Monday. 

Gregory, a sophomore guard and criminal justice major from Freeland, Michigan, scored nine points, while grabbing 11 rebounds and recording two assists in Lake Superior State's 50-46 win over Wayne State on Thursday evening at Bud Cooper Gymnasium. She then garnered 13 points, seven rebounds and one assist in a home game against No. 11 Ashland on Saturday afternoon.   

It is the first time that Gregory has been named the Madigan/Pingatore Insurance Athlete of the Week. 

Madigan/Pingatore in Insurance Services has been serving the Great Lakes since 1895. The professional team is committed to designing profitable, creative solutions to protect clients, community and the environment.

The Lakers are in action this week at home. On Thursday, they take on Michigan Tech at 5:30 p.m. and they host Northern Michigan at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Bud Cooper Gymnasium. On Saturday, the Lakers will honor their graduating seniors with Senior Day.
