Radtke Named GLIAC Women’s Basketball North Division Player of the Week

Claire Radtke is the GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division Player of the Week.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — Claire Radtke has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference Women's Basketball North Division Player of the Week, as announced by conference officials Monday.

Radtke, a junior guard from New Berlin, Wisconsin, averaged 15.5 points per game on 60 percent shooting, including 70 percent on three-point shots, while averaging four rebounds and one steal as the Lakers garnered two road wins on the week. The Lakers are off to their best start through four games since 2014-15 when they also started 3-1.  

In the Lakers' 78-48 win at Ohio Valley on Thursday, Radtke led all players with 15 points on 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) shooting, including 3-of-6 (50 percent) shooting from behind the arc, and she grabbed three rebounds. In the Lakers' 77-64 win at Alderson Broaddus on Saturday, Radtke scored a team-high 16 points on 4-of-7 (57.1 percent) shooting, including 4-of-4 (100 percent) three-point shooting, while grabbing five rebounds, and tallying one assist and one steal.  

It is the first GLIAC weekly honor of Radtke's career and the first GLIAC women's basketball weekly honor for the Lakers since Nov. 26, 2012.   

The Lakers return to the court for a nonconference game at the University of Indianapolis on Wednesday at 1 p.m. 

The Lakers will play their first regular-season home game against Saginaw Valley State University on Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m.
