LSSU Women Fall to No.17 Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, Mich. — The Lake Superior State women's basketball team fell to No.17-ranked Michigan Tech, 75-65, Saturday afternoon in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup on the road.

With the loss, the LSSU falls to 2-21 overall on the year with a 1-17 mark in league competition. MTU improves to 22-3, 15-2.

The Lakers finished the game shooting 40.7 (22-of-54) percent from the field and 41.2 (7-of-17) percent from three-point range. The Huskies shot 48.1 and 29.4 percent.

Lake Superior outrebounded Tech, 34-28, in the contest. Turnovers were in favor of NMU, 14-9.

Sophomore forward Lexie Kohn led the Lakers offensively with 14 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting performance. Abigail Ostman finished with 12 points.

Senior forward Tamara Novic collected her fifth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 boards.

Hannah Stoll led the Huskies offense with 20 points. Brenna Heise finished with 16.
