MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Lake Superior State women's basketball team suffered a, 60-56, loss at Northern Michigan Thursday evening in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup inside the Wildcats' Berry Events Center.

With the loss, the LSSU falls to 2-20 overall on the year with a 1-16 mark in GLIAC competition. NMU improves to 12-13, 8-9.

The Lakers finished the game shooting 39.3 (22-of-56) percent from the field and 43.8 (7-of-16) percent from three-point range. The Wildcats shot 40.4 and 83.3 percent.

Lake Superior outrebounded Northern, 36-31, in the contest. Turnovers were in favor of NMU, 12-11.

Sophomore forward Lexie Khon paced the Lakers offensively with a career-high 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting and a 4-of-4 mark on three-point attempts.

Tamara Novic finished with eight points and led the team on the glass with a season-high 15 rebounds.

Elizibeth Lutz led the Wildcats scoring attack with 19 points. Taylor Hodell finished with 11.

The Lakers will continue their U.P. road trip on Saturday (Feb.17) as they travel to Michigan Tech for a matchup with the Huskies at 1 p.m.
