Women’s Basketball Falls to Ferris State on the Road

BIG RAPIDS, Mich.— The Lake Superior State women's basketball team fell to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Ferris State Sunday afternoon, 75-59, inside FSU's Wink Arena.

With the loss, the Lakers fall to 1-16 overall on the season and 0-12 in the GLIAC. The Bulldogs move to 11-9, 5-7.

LSSU finished the game shooting 47.8 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from three-point distance. FSU shot 43.8 and 26.3 percent.

The Lakers were outrebounded, 38-31, in the loss and turned the ball over 29 times compared to 22 by the Bulldogs.

Sophomore guard Abigail Ostman paced Lake State offensively finishing with a team-high 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting and was 2-of-3 on triple attempts. Tamara Novic posted 13 points on 6-of-10 from the field.

Rachel McInerney led Ferris State in scoring with 18 points. Lilly George finished with 13.

The Lakers return to action next Thursday (Feb.1) as they play host to Saginaw Valley at 5:30 p.m. inside Bud Cooper Gymnasium. Tickets are available at the Norris Center Ticket Office or online at lssulakers.com/tickets
