MIDLAND, Mich.— The Lake Superior State women's basketball team fell to Northwood, 78-61, Saturday afternoon in a

The Lakers fall to 0-8 overall with the loss with a 0-4 mark in the GLIAC competition. The Timberwolves improve to 6-3, 3-1.

LSSU finished the game shooting 39.6 percent from the field with a 25 percent mark from three-point range. NU shot 44.4 and 27.3 percent on the afternoon.

The Lakers held a, 34-32, rebounding advantage in the loss but committed 15 turnovers compared to the four given up by the Timberwolves.

Senior forward Tamara Novic led Lake State offensively with 17 points on a perfect 7-of-7 performance from the field.

Natalie Peterson led the way on the glass posting a season-high eight rebounds to go along with nine points offensively.

Lindsay Orwat led the Northwood offense with 28 points. Maddy Seely posted 16 points.

The Lakers return to Bud Cooper Gymnasium Dec.16 as they host Ferris State in GLIAC competition. LSSU welcomes Algoma (Ontario) Dec.29 in non-conference play.
