CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Competing in the NCAA Division 2 Midwest Regional, the Lake Superior State men's cross country team took a 22nd place finish among the field.  Finishing with an average time of 34:50, the Lakers accumulated 634 points as a team at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.

Taking 86th place was freshman David Mitter.  Mitter ran a time of 32:42.3, which helped him earn the team 83 points.  During the GLIAC Championships, Mitter was named to the All-GLIAC second team.

Next for Lake Superior was Garrett Smith.  Smith finished in 110th place, earning 104 points and running a time of 34:08.9. 

Jack Miles, a junior from Dryden, Michigan, collected 135 points for the Lakers, as he ran the 10 kilometer course in 34:49.0 – good for 143rd place overall.

Completing scoring for Lake Superior was Kendal Delpiere and Zachary Workman.  Delpiere's time of 35:24.4 placed him in 158th, while earning 150 points in the process.  Workman took a score of 162, as his 36:01.3 put him in 170th place.

Rounding out the field for the Lakers were Peter Shambaugh (36:11.9 – 174th) and Dylan Richards (37:07.4 – 183rd).  Their respective scores of 165 and 174 did not factor into the overall score of the team.

Taking the top spot in the regional was Grand Valley, with an overall score of 58.  James Ngandu of Tiffin (who finished 23rd overall) was the fastest individual, with a time of 30:11.8 – over 1:13 faster than the second place finisher.
