Lakers notch first GLIAC win

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team defeated Findlay 8-1 Saturday during its first home match of the season. The Lakers play the second of three straight home matches at 10 a.m. Sunday against Mercyhurst.
LSSU improved to 7-10 overall and 1-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference despite playing without No. 1 singles player Pawel Wegrzyn, who had to sit out the match due to a non-academic NCAA eligibility status issue. The Lakers opened the day with three straight doubles wins.
Findlay dropped to 5-8 overall and 0-5 in the GLIAC.
