Luke Ogren enters his seventh full season as head coach of the Lake Superior State men's and women's tennis teams in 2022-23. Ogren was hired as interim coach at LSSU in February 2016.

In his seven seasons leading the Lakers, Ogren has totaled a 55-99 combined record (25-60 GLIAC) between the men’s and women’s teams. Ogren has guided the men’s team to a 26-51 overall record (11-29 GLIAC) and the women’s team to a 29-48 overall record (14-31 GLIAC).

In Ogren's most recent season, the men's team posed a 5-12 overall record (2-6 GLIAC) while the women's team finished with an overall record of 8-10 (5-4 GLIAC), including a victory over Ferris State in the opening round of the GLIAC Tournament. For the men, Juho Kantola was named to the All-GLIAC First Team while Aaron Osmond received Horable Mention All-GLIAC honors, and for the women, Maddie Whip was named the 2022 GLIAC Freshman of the Year while also earning First Team All-GLIAC honors, and Nadege Koua and Milena Baigorria were named to the All-GLIAC Second Team and Honorable Mention All-GLIAC Teams, respectfully.

In 2020-21, the men’s team played to a 2-7 overall record (2-5 GLIAC) while the women’s team posted a 2-8 overall record (1-7 GLIAC). Both teams were well represented on the all conference teams. Juho Kantola was named First Team All-GLIAC, Xavier Vicent Navarro was named Second Team All-GLIAC and Seth Pinnoo received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors. On the women's team, Nadege Koua and Milena Baigorria were both named to the All-GLIAC Second Team while Claudia Sole received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention recognition.

The 2019-20 season was full of adversity for Ogren’s programs as the women’s team finished the year with a 2-9 overall record (2-7 GLIAC) after playing with a roster depleted by season-ending injuries. Drouin received her third consecutive First Team All-GLIAC honors while Koua was named Second Team All-GLIAC for the second straight year. Muskaan Ranjan received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention recognition.

The men’s season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Lakers had played to a 1-1 record when the season was cancelled.

In his third season leading the Lakers (2018-19), Ogren led the teams to improvement in GLIAC play as both programs qualified for the GLIAC Postseason Tournament. The women’s team finished the fall year with an 8-9 overall record and a 4-5 mark in conference competition. As the No. 6 seed, the women’s team matched up against the No. 3 seeded Michigan Tech Huskies in the tournament. AlexiAnn Drouin was named First Team All-GLIAC, Nadege Koua was named Second Team All-GLIAC and Tara Harvey received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention accolades.

The 2018-19 men’s Laker squad finished the year with a 6-9 overall record and a 4-4 mark in GLIAC competition. The men’s team finished the season as the No. 5 seed in the standings, marking the program’s first GLIAC Tournament berth since the 2009-10 season. Joe Gilman received First Team All-GLIAC honors for his play for the Lakers while freshman Krishan Taneja received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention.

The teams showed consistency in Ogren’s second full season leading the programs as the men’s team posted a 7-10 overall record (2-6 GLIAC) and a 6-11 overall record (2-8 GLIAC). The 2017-18 season for Laker tennis was highlighted by the performance of freshman AlexiAnn Drouin, who was named GLIAC Player of the Year in 2017. Drouin started the year for the Lakers at the No. 1 singles spot and went on to accumulate an 11-1 mark (9-1 GLIAC) in singles.  With partner Allison Grandfield, Drouin compiled a 5-7 record at No. 2 doubles (3-7 GLIAC).  Drouin marks the first player from Lake Superior to ever receive GLIAC Player of the Year accolades.

In Ogren's first full season in the role (2016-17), both teams made positive progress. The women's team improved to a 8-9 overall record after going 3-12 the previous year. In GLIAC play, the women’s team finished the season with a 3-8 record, improving from a winless conference season the year before. The men’s team played to a 7-13 overall record and a 1-8 mark in conference play. Prime received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention on the men’s side and Tara Harvey received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention on the women’s side.

After being hired in February of 2016, Ogren led the men's team to finish with a 5-12 overall record and a 1-8 mark in conference competition. The women's team compiled a 3-1 spring record with Ogren at the helm. Junior Jake Prime received All-GLIAC Honorable Mention accolades.

Prior to his taking over the LSSU coaching reins, Ogren served as the club professional at Querbes Tennis Center in Shreveport, La., from October 2015 through February 2016.

A native of Escanaba, Mich., Ogren earned an associate's degree in business from Bay College in 2013 before going on to receive a bachelor's degree in business management from Lake Superior State University in 2015. A PTR certified tennis professional, Ogren completed cardio tennis instructor training.

Ogren was a two-year (2013-14 and 2014-15) men's tennis letterwinner at LSSU.
