Men's Tennis to Compete in ITA Midwest Regionals

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.- The Lake Superior State men's tennis team will be traveling to Allendale, Mich. to participate in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regionals hosted by Grand Valley State University this weekend. Matches will be played on Saturday, Sept. 28, Sunday, Sept. 29 and Monday, Sept. 30.

Lake Superior State will be one of 22 schools competing in the regional tournament this weekend. The Lakers will have three athletes competing in Men's A Singles Main Draw on Saturday. Senior Joe Gilman is set to compete in an 8:30 a.m match, freshman Juho Kantola is scheduled for a 9:45 a.m. match and sophomore Krishan Taneja will also play his first match at 8:30 a.m.

In the Men's A Doubles Main Draw, the Lakers will have Gilman and Kantola as their No. 1 tandem, with the pair scheduled to play at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. 

The Lakers will have four competitors in the Men's B Singles Main Draw on Saturday. Junior Diego Penz will play at 8:30 a.m., freshman Viktor Vlasov is also set to play at 8:30 a.m., senior Peter Summers will be competing at 9:45 a.m. and junior Seth Pinnoo will round out the Lakers in the B Singles at 11:00 a.m. 

In the Men's B Doubles, the Lakers will have three duos participating. Pinnoo and Vlasov will play at 3:30 p.m., Taneja and Penz will also play at 3:30 p.m., and Summers and senior Stefan Trisic will play at 4:00 p.m.
