Gilman and Taneja Named to 2019 All-GLIAC Men's Tennis Team

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. Lake Superior State student-athletes Joe Gilman and Krishan Taneja were named to the 2019 All-GLIAC Men's Tennis Team, as announced by conference officials on Saturday afternoon.

Gilman, a junior from Holt, Michigan who is majoring in finance and economics, earned First Team All-Conference honors after playing to a 6-4 overall singles record, including a 5-3 mark at the No. 1 singles position in GLIAC play. He had a five-match singles winning streak that started with a win over Grand Valley State's Sebastian Lescoulle on March 23 and culminated with a victory over Purdue Northwest's Moritz Gisy on April 7.

Taneja, a freshman from London, England who is majoring in Geology, earned Third Team All-Conference honors. He has played to a 7-6 overall singles record, including a 5-5 mark in GLIAC play. In addition, Taneja has not lost consecutive singles matches in conference play this season. Taneja has played at No. 3 singles and is also Gilman's partner at No. 1 doubles. Taneja and Gilman have won four doubles matches together this season.

It is the first time that Gilman and Taneja have been named all-conference.
