Lakers fall to powerhouse Northwood in first home dual
SAULT STE. MARIE - Thirteenth-ranked Northwood defeated Lake Superior State 9-0 Friday in the first home dual of the 2008-09 men's tennis season.
In the two closest matches of the day, LSSU freshman Razvan Mag battled to a three-set loss to Peter Kazianschuetz at No. 1 singles, and Laker Brandon Clayton lost a first-set tie-breaker at No. 3 singles and fell, 7-5, 6-3.
The Lakers (0-1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, 4-5 overall) play host to regionally-ranked Wayne State at 10 a.m. Saturday. NU improved to 2-0 in the GLIAC and 7-1 overall.
