MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL have announced the signing of Nick Kossoff to an amateur tryout agreement on Tuesday.

Kossoff, a goaltender from West Des Moines, Iowa, finished his Laker career with a 27-30-5 record, a .913 save percentage, a 2.69 goals against average, 1,868 career saves and five shutouts. Kossoff, who ranks sixth in program history in career goals against average, is the Lakers' record holder for saves in a game after he made 63 saves in a 3-3 tie at Denver on Oct. 20, 2017. During his senior season, Kossoff played to a 17-8-2 record with 730 saves, a .918 save percentage, 2.42 goals against average and one shutout. His 17 wins were the most by a Laker since Kevin Kapalka played to a 17-14-5 record in 2011-12. Kossoff was named WCHA Goaltender of the Week twice in 2018-19 and was also named to the Great Lakes Invitational All-Tournament Team after he backstopped the Lakers to their first-ever GLI title.

Kossoff is the fifth Laker to sign a professional contract following the conclusion of the 2018-19 season. The other Lakers to sign are forward Diego Cuglietta (Texas Stars, AHL), defenseman Steven Ruggiero (San Diego Gulls, AHL) and forwards Anthony Nellis and Gage Torrel (Fort Wayne Komets, ECHL).

This season, the Lakers (23-13-2) won their most games in a season since 1995-96, recorded the longest winning streak since 1996-97 (seven games), swept Ferris State in a road series for the first time since 1993-94, swept Michigan Tech in a series for the first time since 1983-84, won 16 WCHA Player of Week and five WCHA Player of the Month awards, had two Hobey Baker Award nominees, claimed the first Great Lakes Invitational Championship in program history and captured their first-ever WCHA Playoffs series win.
