USCHO Poll

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State hockey is ranked No. 20 in the most recent edition of the USCHO.com Men's Top 20 Poll, as announced on Monday.

Lake Superior State (23-11-2) received 61 voting points to hold at the No. 20 spot in the poll, remaining at the same spot in the rankings as last week. This is the 10th consecutive USCHO poll that the Lakers have been ranked in, dating back to Jan. 7.

Also representing the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in the polls are Minnesota State (No. 2) and Bowling Green (No. 15). Northern Michigan is receiving votes.

The Lakers went 2-0-0 against Bemidji State, capturing the sweep in the WCHA Quarterfinals series last weekend. The Lakers picked up the series win with scores of 4-2 on Friday night and 3-1 on Saturday night at Taffy Abel Arena. It was the team's first-ever WCHA Playoffs series victory and the first playoff series win since defeating Alaska at home in two games during the 2011-12 season, when the Lakers were in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.

Lake Superior State continues playoff action this weekend when they visit top-seeded Minnesota State for the WCHA Semifinals. They will play on Friday and Saturday with a deciding game on Sunday if necessary. All games are set for 8:07 p.m. EDT.
