SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.— The Lake Superior State hockey team will play its final home series of this season this weekend as it hosts No.15-ranked Bowling Green for a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association set inside the Taffy Abel Arena.

The Lakers enter this weekend's matchup with 6-18-4 record overall this season and a 4-13-3 mark in the WCHA. The Falcons are 14-8-6, 11-4-5.

Last Time Out:
LSSU battled it out with No.20-ranked Northern Michigan in Marquette last weekend but came up short in both games falling by identical 3-2 scores.

Diego Cuglietta and J.T. Henke notched goals on Friday while Max Humitz and Brayden Glesinger lit the lamps on Saturday.

Scouting the Falcons:
BGSU enters this weekend coming off a home series sweep of Alaska Anchorage last weekend. The Falcons won, 6-3, on Friday and, 3-2, in Saturday's finale.

Bowling Green boasts, the No.4 scoring offense in the conference this season averaging 3.0 goals per contest. They are No.3 in scoring defense allowing just 2.54 goals per game.

Defenseman Alec Rauhauser paces the Falcons with 28 points on the season and ranks No.2 in the nation amongst qualifying defenseman averaging 1.00 points per contest. Mitch McLain leads the team in scoring with 12 goals this season. 

Sophomore goaltender Ryan Bednard leads BGSU in between the pipes with 361 saves and a .914 save percentage on the year. Bednard's .927 save percentage in league action is No.1 amongst qualifying goaltenders.

Laker Leaders:
Henke, a senior, has been Lake State's offensive catalyst this season with a team-leading 24 points so far. Henke's 18 points in WCHA play ranks No.12 in the conference.

Junior forward Max Humitz has been the leading goal scorer for the Lakers so far with 11 total goals (7 in the WCHA). Anthony Nellis is second with eight goals on the year.

Junior Nick Kossoff has been the Lakers leader in the net season owning a 5-10-2 record with 566 saves for a .907 percentage.

WCHA Standings:
Lake State will need a strong finish in the last 8 games of the regular season to secure a spot in the post season. They currently sit in 9th place in the league standings with 15 points.

With 40 points in league action, Bowling Green owns third place in the WCHA standings trailing Minnesota State-Mankato (45 points) and Northern Michigan (43).

On The Horizon:
The Lakers will play their remaining WCHA schedule on the road as they head to Bemidji State next weekend (Feb.2-3) for a weekend series with the Beavers.

Senior Night:
On Saturday, the Lakers will honor the careers of their senior class with a pregame ceremony beginning at 6:40 p.m.
