PITTSBURGH, Pa.— The Lake Superior State hockey team will wrap up the 2017 portion of the schedule this weekend as it travels to Pittsburgh, Pa, to take part in the sixth-annual Three Rivers Classic at PPG Paints Arena.

The Lakers (4-12-4 overall) will square off with tournament host Robert Morris (7-11-1) on Friday (7:37 p.m.) in their first matchup of the weekend. Arizona State and No.11 Providence will face off at 4:30 p.m.

The winners of those two contests will meet in the championship tilt the following evening at 7:30 p.m., with the consolation game played at 4:30 p.m.

Last Time Out:
In their last action, Lake Superior skated to a 3-3 shootout tie with rival Michigan Tech with the Huskies earning the extra Western Collegiate Hockey Association point in the shootout. The Lakers fell 3-0 in the series opener.

Scouting the Colonials:
RMU enters Friday's contest on a two-game winning streak having swept Mercyhurst in a AHA home series.

The Colonials currently sit in fourth-place in the Atlantic Hockey Association standings and lead the league in power play goals averaging 1.11 per contest.

Senior forward Brady Ferguson leads RMU and ranks fifth nationally in scoring with 27 points on the year. Michael Loria is second on the team 22 points and Luke Lynch paces the team with 11 goals.

Sophomore netminder Francis Marotte has led the way in between the pipes this season with a 7-7-1 record and .909 save percentage.

Laker Leaders:
Senior forward J.T. Henke has been Lake State's biggest offensive weapon this season. Henke's 16 points in WCHA play is No.3 the league and leads the team with 21 points.

Junior forward Max Humitz has been the leading goal scorer for the Lakers so far with eight total goals (5 in the WCHA). Anthony Nellis is second with seven goals on the year.

Junior netminder Nick Kossoff has been the leader in between the pipes this season owning a 3-6-2 record with 364 saves for a .905 percentage. Freshman Mareks Mitens is 1-6-2 with a .892 save percentage.

On The Horizon:
Lake State will return to Taffy Abel Arena for the new year as they play host to Bemdiji State Jan.5-6 in a WCHA series.

All tickets purchased must be for the same hockey or basketball game. Hockey tickets will be reserved seating between the goals in sections E through D or O through R; Customers will be placed in the best seats available at the time of purchase.

Sale prices will officially begin at 12:59 p.m. on Dec.25th and conclude at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 2nd. Customers will have the option to have E-tickets sent to their email or pick them up at the will call table on the day of the game.
