Domenic Monardo named CCHA Rookie of the Week

SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State freshman forward Domenic Monardo received the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's Rookie of the Week Award.

Monardo is an Oakville, Ont., and has one goal and four assists for five points through four games. He ties Brad Cooper for second on the team in plus-minus at +4.

Monardo totaled one goal and three assists in Friday night's 5-4 victory over Canisius. Saturday, Monardo had one assist in the 3-0 game.

Other CCHA Players of the Week include: Western Michigan's J.J. Crew for offensive player, University of Miami's Matt Tomassoni defenseman, and University Nebraska-Omaha's John Faulkner goaltender of the week.
