Laker Men's Golf Place 12th at Bill Blazer Memorial

URBANA, Ohio - The Lake Superior State men's golf program earned a 12th place finish at the Ohio Dominican University Bill Blazer Memorial Invite at the Urbana Country Club on Friday and Saturday, placing higher than Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival, Northern Michigan.

Marko Banic (Calgary, Alb.) led the way for the Lakers with a consistent performance across the two-day tournament, placing 13th overall on the individual leaderboard after shooting on par on the second day of competition to climb 19 spots on the leaderboard. Callum McKay (Calgary, Alb.) came away with a two-day total of 154 strokes, including shooting three over par on day one as well as a combined seven birdies to lead the team across both rounds, and true freshman Charley Stephen (Oshawa, Ont.) was not far behind, requiring only two additional shots to complete both rounds. Gabe Rathburn (Portage, Mich.) and Alex Bratton (Yorktown, Ind.) rounded out the lineup with respective totals of 162 and 165.

Meanwhile, Grant Baker (Woodslee, Ont.), Charles Johnson (Green Bay, Wis.), and Collin Pajot (Brighton, Mich.) were also competing as individuals at the event. Baker would go on to finish with a two-day total of 167 while Johnson and Pajot came away with respective totals of 169 and 180.
