Men's Golf Set for the Motor City Invitational

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University men's golf team will travel to Dearborn, Mich. to continue their GLIAC play on Sunday, Oct. 13 and Monday, Oct. 14 at the Motor City Invitational hosted by Wayne State University. This two-day tournament will be held at TPC Michigan Golf Course which is a Par 72 that plays 7,049 off the tee box. This course was designed by pro-golfing legend, Jack Nickalus.

This event follows the Northwood Invitational in which the Lakers finished seventh overall with a combined score of 922. The Lakers had five participants in this two-day three-round tournament. The scores were as follows. Callum McKay led the Lakers with a total score of 224 (73, 75,76) and tied for 15th overall among all golfers. Nick Oosterhof ranked behind McKay to post the second best total score on the team with a 232 (77-77-78). RyanPage had a total score of 233 (81-75-77), Issac Lennox totaled a 233 (79-75-84), and Jace Carlisle finished with a 240 (77-75-87). 

The Lakers will compete against 14 other teams in this contest. Both days will be counted in the total score for all teams.

Up Next:

Following this match, the Lakers will travel to Gull Lake View Golf Course in Augusta, Mich. to participate in the Panther Invite hosted by Davenport University in GLIAC competition. This competition will take place on Saturday Oct. 19 and Sunday Oct. 21. Tee times are TBA.
