Men's Basketball Falls in First Regular Season Game Against Drury

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Lake Sperior State men's basketball team dropped its season opening game against Drury University by a final score of 89-73 on Friday, November 8 in Nashville, Tenn. at the Trevecca Classic Tournament. 

The Lakers and the Panthers played a tight game in the first half with the score ending with Drury ahead by three points (39-36). The Panthers would outscore the Lakers by a score of 50-37 in the second half to secure the win by a final score of 89-73.

Lake State was led by senior Montrece Collins who posted a team-leading 16 points in the game as well as a team-leading five rebounds. Collins netted three of the Lakers nine three-pointers in the game. Laker starters Justin Fischer and C.J. Robinson each scored 10 points in the game for the Lakers against Drury. 

The Lakers will play again tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. CST against Southwest Baptist. Video and live stats for the game can be found here

Following this tournament, the Lakers will host Spring Arbor University in Bud Cooper Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 15 at 12:00 p.m. This will be the regular season home opener for the Laker men's basketball team.
